What’s a Vertically Oriented Business Card?

There has been so much specialization in so many different fields that even the most minor details of every day items have been perfected to a pretty huge extent in some way, shape or form. Business cards are almost always going to look more or less the same at any given point in time, and a big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that people are simply used to the way that they look and they often react unfavorably if someone tries to buck the status quo.

However, that has not stopped a bold set of new innovators and entrepreneurs from trying to change the way that we think about business cards, and that goes for Metal Cards as well for the most part. One of the newest ideas that have been put forward about how business cards should look is called vertical orientation. This is when the business card is printed in such a way that the information is arrayed vertically rather than horizontally.

If you think about it, this actually makes a lot of sense from a practical point of view. After all, you likely never hand your business card over whilst holding it horizontally. Instead, you give it to people with the longer borders to each side. Vertical orientation makes this work in your favor, since the information would already be arranged to make it easier to read from that perspective. It’s still a very nascent idea and it might not even pick up any steam, but if you are about to get business cards made you may as well give it a try to mix things up.
